Grand Canyon – RV Road Trip: Six States in Three Weeks Series

How do you describe the Grand Canyon?  For me, it was the colors.  Red. Blue. Gold. Green.  It was the texture and light.  It was simply majestic.  But it was also incomprehensible and complicated.  All these adjectives and more fill my mind’s eye when I remember the Grand Canyon.

We drove from Los Angeles mostly on Interstate 40 and it was a long day.  Almost 500 miles and the worst part, I was car sick for most of it.  Blah!  But we made it to Trailer Village on the south rim of the Grand Canyon.  It was funny driving up the South Entrance Road.  I kept waiting to see the canyon out my window.  Little did I know, the Grand Canyon was surrounded by a forest, the Kaibab National Forest and trees were everywhere. Disneyland – RV Road Trip: Six States in Three Weeks Series

Exploring Disneyland

We decided to spend one full day in California Adventure and two full days at Disneyland. I really can not say enough good things about these parks.  They have thought of everything and then some.  The parks are so clean, beautiful and and just plain well done.

We did try to follow The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland as best we could and it really helped with line wait.  In fact, the line for the popular Radiator Springs Racers was well over two hours, but with our fast passes, we walked right onto the ride.  Score!

The food in the parks was reasonably priced for a theme park and good quality.  There were plenty of options to satisfy everyone.

world-of-colorOne of my must see suggestions is World of Color.  All visitors should plan to stay up and experience this show.  According to Wikipedia, World of Color cost Disney $75,000,000 to design and build and I can see why.  This water, light and fire show is spectacular. Honestly, during this show, I turned to my husband and said, [Read more…]
