North Texas Jellystone RV Park

Our¬†excellent¬†Texas adventure continues…..

From San Antonio, we took a U-turn on IH35 and headed north.  We had initially reserved a spot at another RV park in Arlington, until my smart sister-in-law suggested I look up Jellystone in Burleson.  On the drive up, I called, and by some miracle, they had a RV spot available for the 18 days we needed.  We decided to not tell the kids and surprise them on our change of plans.  Boy, were they surprised!

The Alamo City – San Antonio, Texas

Our next stop on our Tour of Texas was the City of San Antonio.

I was actually born in San Antonio an undisclosed number of years ago ūüôā and a large portion of my extended family still live in that area.¬† I was excited to return with my husband and kids to have several reunions of sorts.¬† Since moving away from Texas 10 years ago, sadly¬†there were still some family members¬†who had never met two of my kiddos!¬† So we divided our time by visiting family, sightseeing and eating out.

San Antonio is a unique city with a lot of cultural and historical influences.  One of the most popular is of course, The Alamo.  Any time the kids and I can get out and experience history rather than just read about it is a top priority for my family.

Our Texas Road Trip Begins

What?! It’s September!¬† Where did the summer go?

Last time on whereRVgoing.com, I shared about picking up our new trailer and beginning our trek around Texas.¬† Then I disappeared for awhile.¬† ūüôā¬† I am still here and still writing, but with the added benefit of no distractions.¬† It is hard for me to write on the road.¬† My family and I get out and do a lot.¬† By the time I get home to the camper in the evenings and make dinner, bath the kids and get them to bed, I am exhausted.¬† I want to relax and spend some time with my sweet husband.

So here I am, back home in Seattle¬†after six weeks in Texas and¬†over a week at La Push, Washington.¬† I can’t believe we spent¬†seven weeks in the RV this summer.¬† That means we only spent¬†three¬†weeks of the kid’s summer vacation in our house.¬†¬†So awesome!¬† But now, the kids are back in school and I have plenty of time to rehash¬†our summer and share our memories.¬† Here goes… [Read more…]
