North Texas Jellystone RV Park

Our excellent Texas adventure continues…..

From San Antonio, we took a U-turn on IH35 and headed north.  We had initially reserved a spot at another RV park in Arlington, until my smart sister-in-law suggested I look up Jellystone in Burleson.  On the drive up, I called, and by some miracle, they had a RV spot available for the 18 days we needed.  We decided to not tell the kids and surprise them on our change of plans.  Boy, were they surprised!

Jellystone was a dream come true for my kids.  There is SO much to do here for all ages:

Once we arrived, the check in was smooth and we easily found our way to our site.  We set up and made ourselves at home by exploring the park and learning our way around.  We elected to walk everywhere, but tons of guests chose to rent golf carts ($69/day) to get around the property.

I would suggest, if you are planning to stay here, to inquire about the RV section closer to the water park.  This area is nicer due to the larger sites and room to spread out.  Since we registered same day and availability was low, our site was in a more crowded section of the park.  Overall, we were happy with our site, but having more elbow room is always nice.  Our site was a level, gravel pad with paved roads throughout so be sure to bring the bikes and scooters.  Site prices vary by season and range from $35-75 per night.

Included in your stay are a number of activities I pulled from Jellystone’s website:

Activities from Labor Day to Memorial Day are available Friday afternoon, all day Saturday, & until Noon on Sunday

  • Lost Maze
  • Scheduled Themed Activities for Jellystone Park™
  • Hey Hey Hey ride
  • Fire Truck Ride
  • Karaoke
  • Movie Time
  • Bear Roll Train
  • Candy Bar Bingo
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Activities with a Bear

Year Round Activities Include:

  • Pools
  • Catch & Release Fishing
  • Ga Ga Ball
  • Basketball
  • Horseshoes
  • Volleyball
  • Tether Ball

Activites that cost in addition to your stay:

  • Pirates Cove Water Park – Wet Zone
  • Games Lagoon Game Card
  • Play Smart Structure
  • Air Zone – Inflatables Corral
  • Bike rental
  • Laser Tag
  • Frog Hopper
  • Art Zone Crafts
  • Splat Zone – Paintball

When we checked in we decided to purchase a band for $30 a person.  It allowed us unlimited access to the water park and arcade.  It also came with $5 for the arcade, one frog hopper ride and a game of laser tag.  Since we were staying for 18 nights, having the band turned out to be a great value.

Check out the property map below – the place is so huge, I had to squeeze the map in!

As for the food at Jellystone, we did not partake.  There are plenty of fast-food and restaurants available just north on IH35N.  I do have to recommend Babe’s Chicken Dinner House.  This was by far, and I mean far, the best fried chicken I have ever eaten!!!  Can’t go wrong with this menu (picture and menu taken from Babe’s website, Burleson location):

Last but definitely not least, was getting more family time.  My brother, his wife and their son live here in the DFW area.  I cherish all the time we spent with them and I appreciate all their hospitality.  Love and miss y’all!   🙂

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read our adventure.  We continue next time on whereRVgoing.com in Texas for two side trips to Granbury, to see my awesome Dad, and Texas A&M University, only the greatest university on Earth!  😉

Comments

  1. Jellystone parks are known to be the park to go to with kids, so I am not surprised by your comments, but also glad they are having a killer time

    • Hi smokeycamping,
Thanks – we had a great time. There are only a handful of Jellystone parks in the western US, so we had no idea what was in store for us!

  2. Sounds like a blast.

  3. What a great family place! 🙂 I’m so glad you were able to make some wonderful memories with your family. 🙂 Happy Travels!

I love reading comments, so please leave a reply :-)
